Bringing Smiles to Your Doorstep

A healthy mouth will improve
overall health and wellbeing

Good oral health is essential for healthy aging. High and often rampant levels of oral disease and conditions are evident in residents living in aged care facilities.

The percentage of people 75+ wearing full dentures has reduced and 1 in 4 are at this time.

Issues of access to dental care are well known due to mobility constraints and/or carers and family members needing to take time out of their busy lives to accompany their older adult to appointments. It is because of these that Dental In Residence was conceived.

We aim to provide a ‘dental 2 u’ service in the comfort and security of their own space.

The most recent National Survey of Adult Oral Health (2004– 2006)

Identified more than 90 percent of people aged 60 and over suffered from gum (periodontal) disease. Oral disease causes pain, is costly and disfiguring, results in poor nutrition and provides a portal for disease.

Dental In Residence aim to come to you to examine and treat as needed in the comfort of your arm chair

Dental In Residence realises the importance of collaboration with all health care workers to improve optimum health in general and particularly oral health.

All this to overall improve the quality of life an older adult can enjoy with family and friends.

CONSENT

When an appointment has been scheduled we will send to you consent and medical history forms to be completed and returned prior.

This ensures all the paperwork is sorted and then we can focus on your oral health needs.
